The Shuck family has been burdened with more hardship than any other family should endure. Mother, Terry, has intestinal cancer, Crohn’s disease, scoliosis, osteoporosis, chronic ulceritis, and fibromyalgia and has found herself hospitalized 37 times and in the ER 127 times in 5 years. Her husband has lost several jobs trying to care for her and overcame prostate cancer simultaneously. Children, Aricka and Nick, had to drop out of Oakland University and Stoney Creek respectively to help the family. Aricka also has had two major surgeries in the last year with reoccurring unknown medical complications. Of the utmost serious nature, the Shucks have been homeless twice. While this process was much longer than usual, see how we were able to help keep a roof over their head, get them the transportation needed and keep them as healthy as possible.
